Tiny Giant Steps, the Gates Foundation’s innovators video series, features stories of the incredible people working in global health R&D. The first entry features the work of the brilliant Dr. Ruanne Barnabas, Chief of Infectious Diseases at Mass General Hospital, and the principal investigator of the KEN SHE study. Dr. Barnabas and her team have proven that a single-dose of the HPV vaccine is robust and 97.5% effective against preventing cervical cancer, a key pillar and stepping stone towards eliminating cervical cancer worldwide.

It was an absolute privilege getting to work with Dr. Barnabas. A huge debt of gratitude is owed to her for her kindness, patience, and generosity. Special thanks to Frances Edwards and the whole FCB NY team for bringing me on and pulling this one off together!
